Overall Rating

The overall rating is based on one of the following:

- A calculated rating that accounts for the average goal rating and the average competency rating, according to a formula configured before the review starts.

- A value that the supervisor chooses when filling out the performance review.

Average Competency Rating

The average of the competency scores on the Competencies page. It appears if you use competencies in your review process. If you can enter an overall score, consider the average competency rating to reflect how the user performed. The average accounts for weights, which make some competencies more important to the score. Competencies with a higher weight are more important and weigh in more heavily on the average.

Average Goal Rating

The average of all ratings given to the employee's goals on the Goals page. It appears if you use goals in your review process. If you can enter an overall score, consider the average goal rating to reflect how the user performed on his or her goals. The average accounts for weights, which make some goals more important to the score. Goals with a higher weight are more important and weigh in more heavily on the average.

Supervisor Rating

Supervisors select the overall performance rating from this list. If the supervisor selects Custom Value, the Custom Rating field appears where he or she can type a custom rating. The custom rating must be a valid number between the minimum and maximum ratings available in the Supervisor Rating list.

Criteria

The criteria is the supervisor's overall rating.
